New York Peace Institute’s AmeriCorps Program Suspended

Help Us Keep Our AmeriCorps Fellows

New York Peace Institute currently has three fantastic AmeriCorps Fellows providing critical support to our training, civil, and family court programs. Unfortunately, nearly $400 million in AmeriCorps funding was recently cut by the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, under the Trump administration. As a result, contracts for NYPI’s AmeriCorps Fellows, along with approximately 80% of AmeriCorps programs nationwide, were terminated effective immediately.

In response, NYPI has chosen to support our AmeriCorps Fellows to fulfill their service hours unless or until the AmeriCorps program is reinstated. We need to raise $40,000 to make this happen. Please consider making a donation – every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference!

Our AmeriCorps Fellows play a vital role in supporting our programs and ensuring that our clients have access to free mediation, facilitation and restorative processes. The decision to abruptly end their contracts impacts our Fellows’ livelihoods, as well as NYPI’s ability to successfully implement our programs.

Please support this campaign so that Shalini and our other AmeriCorps Fellows can continue their critical and much-needed work with NYPI.

Thanks so much!
